About the Author

Hemin
Park

Hemin Park boldly narrates about her life, sometimes portraying herself as clumsy and awkward, at other times brutally honest. She declares that all humans are, without a doubt, flawed and contradictory beings.

Through witty, sharp, and occasionally sensitive prose, she reflects on the unpredictable journey of life as a woman without a clear roadmap, sharing the many emotions and situations she has encountered along the way.

Currently writing film scenarios, Park explores narrative across mediums. In 2022, she received the Best Short Script award at the New York International Film Awards for A Dog Doll.

Essay Collection / Memoir

Life, for all of us, is a cycle of encounters with people—one after another. In this cycle, we accumulate layers of memories: fleeting emotions, uncomfortable moments, and unforgettable experiences.

Park presents her life and its events as they were, weaving them into a candid and free-flowing narrative populated with characters drawn from her closest companions, workplace colleagues (featuring the ever-familiar "boomer boss"), childhood friends, college buddies, and even an unwelcome guest—a fly that overstayed its visit.

"Life is unpredictable, so live it boldly, unapologetically, and on your own terms."
